It's a nice nod to a game that seems to be getting a lot right. Doom: The Dark Ages moves away from the floaty chaos of Eternal and leans back into that heavy, brutal rhythm that made Doom 2016 so satisfying. Combat is designed to feel deliberate and aggressive. There's a new shield mechanic that turns parrying into a core part of your strategy, a focus on melee charges, and plenty of layered map design that rewards exploration. Best of all, the devs added a simple warning icon when you’re about to cross a point of no return, so you won’t miss secrets unless you’re actively trying to.

That makes this controller feel like more than just merch. It's a preview of the tone and direction the game is taking. It's loud, armored, unapologetically overbuilt, and clearly designed by people who understand what fans want out of Doom.

The design leans straight into that medieval-futuristic aesthetic the new game is going for. You've got matte green armor plating, silver 3D helmet spikes, and Sentinel alphabet ABXY buttons that genuinely look pulled from an ancient vault. It’s not subtle, and that’s the point.

Functionally, this is a standard Xbox Wireless Controller, so no surprises there. It works with Xbox Series X/S, PC via Bluetooth or USB-C, and cloud gaming setups if that’s your thing. But it also comes with an extra bonus: a code for the DOOM Slayer Executioner skin in Doom: The Dark Ages. The game itself isn’t included, but the cosmetic gives you a head start on looking like the angriest thing in hell when launch day hits.
