I've found the LEGO Dune Ornithopter set for just $131.95 at Amazon
Foldout wings, eight minifigs, and pure sci-fi swagger.

I want this LEGO Dune Ornithopter set so badly, it's almost embarrassing. At $131.95 right now (down from $164.99), it's the kind of deal that makes me pause mid-scroll and seriously consider rearranging my shelf, budget, and weekend plans. By comparison, it's still £145 in the UK, so it really is a tremendous discount if you're on the right side of the pond (this time at least). It's 1,369 pieces of sci-fi brilliance, and honestly, I think it's one of the coolest adult LEGO builds out there.

LEGO Icons Dune Atreides Royal Ornithopter 10327$131.95 (20% off, was $164.99) |
This isn't just some blocky approximation of a ship. It's the Atreides Royal Ornithopter, with foldout wings, working landing gear, and enough attitude to put your Millennium Falcon to shame. I mean, the wings actually flap. You can pose it in flight mode or grounded, and I genuinely love that LEGO didn’t just cheap out with a simple static model.
Then there's the minifig lineup. Paul Atreides is here, naturally, but also Lady Jessica, Chani, Gurney, Leto, Liet Kynes, Duncan Idaho, and everyone's favorite floating nightmare, Baron Harkonnen in full robe mode. It's a complete cast of characters packed into one box. I think that alone makes it worth it.
Now, as a Dune nerd, this set hits differently. Ornithopters aren't just sci-fi window dressing. These things have a wild backstory involving ancient political prisoners, mollusk-powered flight systems, and a rebellion that kickstarted one of the most versatile vehicles in the galaxy. In the books, they could carry cargo, fire lasguns, and even manage short hops into space. And yes, the early versions literally flapped their wings with the help of nerve-wired bivalves. No notes. Absolute perfection.
In my opinion, the designers nailed the balance between serious fandom and good old-fashioned LEGO joy. This is a build that earns its shelf space. It’s a flex, a hobby project, and a conversation starter all at once.
