Ironeye abilities

The Ironeye's abilities aren't just build around ranged attacks. He has a useful passive ability that can help the entire party and a character skill that debuffs enemies, making them take more damage for a set period of time.
Ironeye passive: Eagle Eye
- Ironeye discovers more items after defeating enemies
Ironeye character skill: Marking
- Ironeye dashes through an enemy, cutting them with a dagger and applying a debuff that makes them take more damage. Enemies with this debuff are marked with an X
Ironeye ultimate art: Single Shot
- Fires a large arrow that ignores enemy defenses and pierces through all foes in its path

Best weapons and magic for Ironeye
Dexterity is the Ironeye's primary attribute, so he's not a solid pick for magic or heavy weapons. Decent strength scaling and a good arcane stat let him use straight and thrusting swords and apply status ailments with modest results. However, katanas, daggers, and, of course, bows are always going to be his best choices.
While the damage output of greatbows might seem appealing, we've had the best results using standard bows. These in particular are the most useful and appear to drop with greater frequency than others.
- Albinauric Bow
- Black Bow
- Composite Bow
- Pulley Bow
Given his proficiency with dexterity, though, you'll also have good results equipping any katana you find in his left hand.

Best relics for Ironeye
Ironeye has a few fixed relics that suit him well, along with the remembrance you receive from the first Night Lord, Gladius.
Grand Luminous Scene (purchased in Roundtable Hold)
- [Ironeye] Extends duration of weak point
- Endurance +2
- Dexterity +2
Night of the Beast
- Stamina recovery with successive attacks +1
- Starting armament deals fire damage
Any stamina or dexterity-boosting relics are good choices for Ironeye, and if you find one that raises the power of the character's standard attack, make sure he gets it.

Best talismans for Ironeye
Ironeye's best talismans are quite specific, so you might not have much luck finding them regularly. Even without Millicent's talisman and the Arrow's Sting talisman, though, you can still end up with a strong build by boosting Ironeye's stamina and HP.
- Arrow's Sting Talisman: Increases power of arrows and bolts
- Viridian Amber Medallion: Boost maximum stamina
- Green Turtle Talisman: Increases stamina recovery speed
- Millcent's Prosthesis: Raises dexterity and increases power of successive attacks
- Godskin Swaddling Cloth: Successive attacks restore HP

Tips for playing Ironeye
Ironeye does more than just sling arrows at enemies from afar. The variety of his kit lends itself to deeper strategy, and his own stat specialties make it worth experimenting with weapons beyond your standard bows.
The bigger they are
Avoid using greatbows and crossbows unless there's another Ironeye on your team or a competent Recluse. One of the Ironeye's most important roles on a team is reviving downed allies from a distance. Greatbow attacks are slower and prevent the Ironeye from moving while they fire, which means your ally revives more slowly and the Ironeye is prone to attack during the process. The same applies to crossbows. However, with another ranged character on your team, one can focus on heavier weapons while the other remains agile and capable of helping teammates.
Mark everything as often as possible
There's no bad time to use the Ironeye's skill, as everyone always benefits from dealing more damage to enemies. If you can, make sure to mark a foe that's about to take a critical hit so they deal even more damage. The best circumstance would be the Ironeye marking an enemy, someone like the Raider or Executor landing a critical hit, and then the Duchess using Restage to repeat the damage.
Multi-use skill
Ironeye's marking skill doubles as an evasive maneuver that puts him temporarily out of harm's way while an enemy attacks. Don't hesitate to use it if you think it might help you avoid taking a hit.
Branch out
As mentioned, Ironeye's scaling makes them capable of wielding katanas and other dexterity-based weapons to good effect. It's worth keeping one or two on hand to use in a pinch, if you need to deal extra damage or contend with more than one enemy at close range.
